My washing machine is overfilling.
If your washing machine is overfilling, there are a number of faults that can cause this. Unfortunately we do not recommended that you try to repair these problems yourself. This is a job for a qualified plumber.
Reasons why your washing machine might be overfilling

Fault with the water inlet valve
The water inlet valve allows water to enter the washing machine drum. Any problem with the water inlet valve can cause your washing machine to overfill with water.

Fault with the pressure switch
The pressure switch or water level switch, is responsible for sending signals to the water inlet valve. This in turn controls the flow of water that is allowed into the washing machine. A fault with this switch can lead to your washing machine overfilling.

Fault with the pressure chamber
The pressure chamber is designed to fill up with air as a result of the rising level of water in the drum. This air is pushed up the pressure hose and activates the pressure switch to start the wash cycle. If there is a problem with the pressure chamber, such as a blockage, this will interfere with this process and could cause your washing machine to overfill.
