The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 – Responsible Persons

New responsibilities for responsible persons were introduced on 23 January 2023, following the introduction of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.

These regulations will make it a legal requirement for responsible persons of high-rise blocks of flats to provide information to Fire Services. This is so they can plan in the event of needing to deliver an effective operational response. Responsible persons are also now required to give the residents of all multi-occupied high-rise buildings fire safety instructions and information on the importance of fire doors.

The Government has introduced these regulations in order to implement the majority of recommendations made in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 report.

A factsheet has been provided by the Government which outlines the regulations. This can be accessed at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fire-safety-england-regulations-2022/fact-sheet-overview

To further aid with the safety efforts, as outlined in these new regulations, Infoo strongly maintains the importance of checking if household appliances have been recalled.
